After the press conference at the Chamber of Deputies in Rome, we joined the delegation of Australian Aboriginal representatives at the European Parliament.
On World Kangaroo Day, 24 October, the Australian delegation, which also included representatives of the Yuin Aboriginal community, following the conference at the Press Room of the Chamber of Deputies and the meetings and hearings held in the parliaments of Holland and Belgium (which, together with Italy, are the national markets in the EU of greatest reference for the import of kangaroo meat and skins), concluded the European institutional tour in Strasbourg.
On the occasion of the plenary session of the European Parliament, we joined the Australian delegation in the meeting with MEPs of the Animal Welfare Intergroup, and in bilateral meetings with members of DANZ (the EU Delegation for relations with Australia and New Zealand): the result was a broad and explicit support of MEPs for a European ban on the import of kangaroo products.
